We are looking for a Payroll Processor to join our accounting team. This is a Full Time position Monday-Friday.

 Job Duties: 

·         Processing semi-monthly/monthly payroll for over 1,400 employees in the US and Puerto Rico

·         Maintain payroll information such as 401K, misc. deductions, third party sick pay, time entry and other payroll related task

·         Run off-cycle payrolls when necessary

·         Process interrogatories for garnishments

·         Build, reports and submits information to the DOL

·         Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions to reconcile different payroll accounts such as 401K, HSA, and others

·         Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee/employer federal and state income and social security taxes

·         Help with year-end duties such as reconciling and balancing W-2’s

·         Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

·         Address Employee’s pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information

·         Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

·         Maintain employee confidence and by keeping information confidential

·         Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  Skills Required: 

·         Proficient with payroll concepts including payroll taxes, garnishments, COBRA, FMLA, auditing payroll for accuracy, 401K and all other aspects of payroll

·         Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

·         Must have strong reconciliation, organizational and planning skills 

·         Understanding of basic accounting principles and internal controls

·         Strong communication skills – verbal and written

·         Process payroll by established deadlines

·         Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy 

·         Team work and stress tolerance

·         Experience with Workday Software is a plus 

  Experience/Schooling or Degree Required:  

·         Associates degree or High school diploma

·         Prior payroll experience

·         Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Job Summary:  We are seeking a new payroll specialist to manage payroll data, process payroll transactions and maintain payroll records by performing the following duties. The new payroll specialist will be working in a team environment but will have assigned payroll groups.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Accurately inputs payroll data from time sheets, production records, and individual time cards or uploads from electronic timekeeping system into computerized payroll system
  • Produces payroll registers, reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, non-standard deductions, reimbursements and union dues to be withheld from time sheets and other records
  • Assists with pay card set-up and maintenance, coordinates with employees’ banks and payroll provider as necessary
  • Assists with all Garnishment and Child Support related orders and inquiries
  • Assists with researching and implementing local tax setup on a per employee basis
  • Assists with audit and tax related issues, gathers documentation, analyzes data and reports on findings
  • Answers payroll inquiries from employees and payroll contacts, troubleshoots issues and responds appropriately
  • Works closely with HR regarding changes to employees and benefit related inquiries
  • Trains current and new Managers on timekeeping system, payroll responsibilities and communicates deadlines effectively
  • Updates/Creates Excel and Word documents with pertinent information as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Spanish speaker a plus but not required

Education/Experience: Two or more year’s payroll processing experience required.  Experience with ADP Vantage, ADP Enterprise, ADP PayForce or Kronos Workforce Central 7.0 a plus.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Computer Systems, Outlook, Word and Excel.

Certificates and Licenses: APA Certification is a plus but not required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
